Cheyres is a village on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel that recently merged with the village of Châbles to form the commune of Cheyres-Châbles with 2,500 inhabitants. The commune is located in the heart of the Grande Cariçaie nature reserve.

Highly rated for its microclimate, Cheyres is known for its vineyards that extend over more than 14 hectares, its marina, its tourist beach and the Grande Cariçaie (the largest nature reserve in Switzerland, home to about a quarter of the country's fauna and flora).
